In Zentral- und Osteuropa zählt die Unternehmensnachfolge zu einem brennenden Thema, da diese unmittelbare ökonomische und soziale Auswirkungen nach sich zieht. Jedes Jahr schließen viele stabile und erfolgreiche Familienunternehmen, da sie einfach keinen passenden Nachfolger finden. Obwohl die Thematik der Unternehmensnachfolge in z.B. Österreich oder Italien erfolgreich thematisiert wird, stehen Länder wie Tschechien, Slowakei, Polen und Kroatien vor einer neuen Herausforderung.
In diesen Ländern existiert wenig Erfahrung und Bewusstsein zu Betriebsübergaben und das Risiko eines „business exit“ betrifft vor allem Familienunternehmen welche in den frühen 90ern, nach dem Fall des Kommunismus, gegründet wurden. Das transnationale EU-Projekt ENTER-transfer (Enterprise transfer) zielt vor allem darauf ab, ein Umfeld zu schaffen, in dem Betriebsnachfolgen attraktiv werden und die Aufmerksamkeit des privaten und öffentlichen Sektors auf die Thematik gezogen wird. Um dies zu ermöglichen wird im Zuge des Projektes eine Matchmaking Plattform entwickelt, welche als virtueller Marktplatz zwischen Unternehmen und potentiellen Nachfolgern fungieren sollte. Diese soll eine grenzübergreifende Plattform werden, denn folgende Länder sind aktiv bei der Entwicklung involviert: Kroatien, Österreich, Polen, Slowakei und Tschechien.

In Central and Eastern Europe, company succession is a burning issue, as it has direct economic and social consequences. Every year many stable and successful family businesses close because they simply cannot find a suitable successor. Although the topic of business succession is successfully addressed in e.g. Austria or Italy, countries such as the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Croatia face a new challenge. In these countries there is little experience and awareness of business transfers and the risk of a "business exit" mainly concerns family businesses founded in the early 90s after the fall of communism.
The transnational EU project ENTER-transfer (Enterprise transfer) aims above all to create an environment in which business successions become attractive and the attention of the private and public sectors is drawn to the topic. In order to make this possible, a matchmaking platform will be developed in the course of the project, which should function as a virtual marketplace between companies and potential successors. The following countries are actively involved in the development: Croatia, Austria, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
